Position Summary:

Mexicali Blues is looking for a hands-on, process-minded Warehouse Manager to lead the daily workflow, productivity, safety, and organization of our Newcastle warehouse.

This role is responsible for moving merchandise efficiently from arrival through receiving, processing, storage, and fulfillment for our retail stores, ecommerce customers, and developing wholesale business. The Warehouse Manager works closely with our Inventory & Purchasing Manager, who establishes inventory movement strategies and replenishment priorities, and leads the warehouse team in executing those plans accurately and on schedule.

This is not a desk-only management position. The right person will enjoy leading people, improving processes, solving problems, and working alongside the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, coach, and support an effective and accountable warehouse team.
  • Work hands-on in all warehouse workflows, including operating forklifts and pallet jacks, unloading shipments, tagging and processing merchandise, organizing storage, picking and packing orders, and loading deliveries.
  • Manage the arrival and processing of domestic and overseas shipments.
  • Execute store replenishment plans established by the Inventory & Purchasing Manager.
  • Oversee ecommerce fulfillment and support the continued development of wholesale fulfillment.
  • Maintain high standards for accuracy, packaging, presentation, and turnaround time.
  • Lead cycle counts and company-wide physical inventory activities.
  • Investigate operational discrepancies and ensure corrections are completed.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and productive warehouse environment.
  • Participate in regular company, delivery planning, leadership, and integrated planning meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in common business software (POS systems, Google Suite etc.).
  • At least three years of warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, or related operational experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to establish priorities and keep a team moving effectively.
  • Forklift and pallet-jack experience, or the ability to become certified.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with inventory, warehouse, shipping, barcode, or label-printing systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Must be comfortable working in a warehouse setting.

Work Environment:

  • This role primarily takes place in the warehouse.

Benefits:

At Mexicali Blues, we believe in supporting our employees with a comprehensive benefits package that aligns with our values as a Certified B Corporation™:

  • Profit sharing through bonuses
  • Paid Time Off 🌴
  • Volunteer Time Off 🎗
  • Free Clothing Allowance 🌈
