Portland, Maine’s annual Old Port Festival kicks off this Sunday, June 12. Our Old Port shops are right in the middle of it, and we can’t wait! Puppet parades winding through the cobblestoned streets, small shops spilling their wares across the sidewalks, live music and fun food on every corner, and the Casco Bay Eye Ferris Wheel spinning over it all.
And because we’re right in the middle of it all, we know it can sometimes be a little bit … crazy. The crowds are big. The volume is high. There’s a chance for thunderstorms in the forecast. If you find that you or your family feeling overstimulated and overwhelmed (or just plain over it), come straight to Mexicali Blues.
We’re creating an Old Port Festival Oasis in front of our stores on Moulton Street. Team member Caleb Erskine of Living Intent Yurt Company has created one of his signature yurts for us, so we can create a serene, airy space for you. Step inside and check out all our calming and centering services—FREE!—so you can get back out there and celebrate.

With Suse’s guidance, you can let conceptual thinking fall away to reveal “the consciousness in which the body and the world appear.” Allow all of the craziness to simply be, and you can rejoin the fun in a more mindful way.
