If you’re lucky enough to live in Midcoast Maine– or if you've had the opportunity to visit– chances are you’ve seen our delivery vans around route one. But did you know there’s more to them than making special deliveries around our great state?
Their names are Box of Rain and Sunshine Daydream, named after a few of our (other) favorite Grateful Dead songs. For the past five years, they have spread joy wherever they go! The SPG (smiles per gallon) on these babies is off the charts!
“Driving down the road and making people smile embodies the Mexicali Blues Experience!” says Co-Owner Kim Erskine.
Sunshine Daydream and Box of Rain are 2015 Mercedes Sprinter delivery vans adorned all over with a vibrant rainbow burst of tie dye. Thanks to an all-around awesome job by Adventure Advertising out of Rockport, ME we were able to detail our trusty steeds in our favorite design!
The choice of tie dye was an easy one, as expressed by the Mexicali Blues Co-Owner & Founder, Pete Erskine: “Tie Dye is my favorite color!” This Sprinter was chosen for its fuel efficiency, reliability, and aesthetic appeal, all of which are highly complimented by the kaleidoscopic swirling colors of tie dye.
"Twenty-seven miles per gallon made the Sprinter the responsible choice; tie dye made it the right choice.” says Topher Mallory, CEO.
If you see one of our bright babes truckin’ down the road then you know there is going to be some exciting goodies to find in one of our five Maine locations! If you see another truck dancing around the west coast, that one's name is Stella Blue and she's keeping the youngest Erskine brother company while he builds yurts! Be sure to stop in soon or shop online to see what’s new and exciting in the world of Mexicali Blues.
