Come into the woodlands and feel your bare feet touch the warm Earth. The stars are slowly moving above the treetops, writing their majestic script. This is our home, but it's a home among the starry writings. What is being revealed to our innermost heart?
Many ancient mystics say that at Midsummer our planet drifts into a pleasant somnambulance and expands a dreamy awareness out into astral realms. We are part of that magical dream and its dramas and rise with it in our own sleep.
A Shakespearean rite of passage is played out between July 4th and July 13th, first with Mars in Leo and its intense dance of opposition with Saturn in Aquarius. A desire to act out of our hearts impulses is met with Saturn's request to consider how that impacts all others, our human condition as a whole. The Age of Aquarius is dawning.
The same follows with Venus a few days later in Leo and the engagement with Saturn's cautionary tales. Both Mars and Venus, with their hearts aflame, pass through a square to Uranus which throws Saturn's cautions to the wind. Wild and free they insist they will be!
Then a deep harmonizing comes for the yin and yang of these two personal planets as they perfect a conjunction, a marriage of sorts, on the 13th of the month where polarities balance and the benevolent heart of Leo maintains the realm and the nurturance of Cancer sustains the healing life force. Our individual efforts attain their fulfillment as these two planetary trajectories come together.
On Friday, July 9th, the Sun and Moon unite at 18 degrees of Cancer for the New Moon of the season. Watery, fecund, tender and healing, this is a time to turn your gaze inward and listen to the sweet wisdom rising from the pure wells within. Pluto is involved by opposition so deep regeneration occurs. Both the New Moon and Pluto square Chiron in Aries. Shamanic magic attends the double marriage of Venus and Mars, Sun and Moon as the new lunar cycle begins. Romance is afoot!
