Nepali dhoop incense is handmade from potent medicinal herbs and has been used for centuries for purification and healing. Dhoop is a traditional form of pure incense that is not wrapped around an incense stick, so it is pure incense throughout. Most dhoops have very concentrated scents and put out a lot of smoke when burned.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Dhoop incense is wider than traditional incense sticks and burns all the way down, so be sure to use an incense burner designed for dhoop.
  • Green Tara smells of white sandal and nutmeg, protects and purifies the organs, cleans the chakras, and promotes meditation and spiritual development.
  • Medicine Buddha is a rich sandalwood and lightly floral scent, used for clearing the mind, removing mental dullness and lifting depression. In combination with Himalayan herbs it helps to balance the mind and purify the air from negative energies.
  • Ohm Mani Padme Hoong is a warm nutmeg scent, known to balance the mind, and promote meditation and spiritual development.
  • Himalayan Juniper is an herbal fragrance, known to protect and purify the body and environment.
  • Chenrezig is made of Himalyan healing herbs and forest flora, and is used to refresh the mind for yoga and clear away negative energies.
  • Pure Sandalwood is an especially rich white sandalwood scent, used for clearing the mind, removing mental dullness and lifting depression. In combination with Himalayan herbs it helps to balance the mind and purify the air from negative energies.

PLACE: Nepal

We travel the world to source unique and handmade items. In Nepal, that means trekking across breathtaking mountain vistas, strolling with Tibetan Buddhist monks and sharing meals—and stories—in the warm and welcoming homes of our Nepalese friends. As we fill our stores with goods from Nepal, Nepal fills our spirits.

PURPOSE

Over the past two years, we've donated over $50,000 (all thanks to our customers!) to the dZi Foundation in order to help build earthquake-proof schools in remote Nepal.

PROCESS

Pete is proud of never bargaining the price he is given and always paying artisans for their skill and hard work. We see for ourselves how our goods are made and we work with the people who make them to keep items affordable and workshop wages fair.

PEOPLE

We forge long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with the artisans who handcraft our products. Pete and Kim have known many of our vendors for over a decade! Buying trips to workshops are chances to catch up with old friends and make new memories.
