"What is batik fabric?" or "Where does batik come from?" you may ask? Batik is an ancient Indonesian art that applies batik wax to create a beautiful one of a kind resistance dye pattern on fabric. While similar to the tie dye process, the Javanese batik textile art has ancient cultural roots on the beautiful islands of Indonesia. The fabric is first dyed, and then overlaid with beeswax and redyed to create a layered color pattern. Where will you wear yours?
