ASTROLOGY + ENERGY: NEW MOON IN PISCES

ASTROLOGY + ENERGY: NEW MOON IN PISCES

The Pisces New Moon rises on Saturday, the 13th of March. The last moon cycle of the winter season, this new moon marks the beginning of a new cycle.  It’s the perfect time to look back at what you’ve been able to accomplish, and set intentions for where you’d like to grow in this new twenty-eight day cycle!

The Influence of Pisces on the Moon:

The Moon represents our internal drives and characteristics while drawing out the unconscious tendencies of how we interact with the world around us. It is often thought to represent our emotional journey through the cosmos.

There’s a stellium at play this month folks, so sit back and enjoy the ride. A stellium is when a group of powerful planets appears to cluster together from our perspective, which can be a rare occurrence in the cosmos since each planet is on a different trajectory around our sweet sun. Being aware of these groupings and knowing each planet’s relationship to one another can help us understand our own emotions and triggers. We know that this is a powerful time for us to embrace our soft and sensitive sides, indulge in our creative passions, and lead with love.

Luckily, for the rest of the month we don’t have any planets entering retrograde which means it’s smooth sailing for a few more weeks. Pisces is surrounding our lunar goddess with emotive and spiritual vibes, giving us the power to lean into the softness and creativity of our inner beings. Mercury will enter Pisces just two days after the new moon on March 15th, which will help aid us in making up for the lack of communication skills we’ve been experiencing as of late.

What this moon means for Fire Signs; Leo, Aries, Sagittarius:

The focus and determination you put forth during the last cycle have helped guide you to where you need to be now. Dive deep into the pool of self-discovery to learn who you truly are meant to be without the burden of all the baggage you’ve been carrying.

What this moon means for Earth Signs; Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn:

It’s all about embracing your softer side so you can flourish in the company of someone new. Someone who sees the true value of your presence. This is your perfect moment to invest in meaningful connections and to let your guard down. If you have trust in your passions and it is sure to benefit more than just yourself.

What this moon means for Air Signs; Gemini, Libra, Aquarius:

You did the hard work last cycle to gear up for the manifestation of your next path and now you’re ready to set plans in motion. That doesn’t mean you should set aside the work you’ve been doing to improve your self-care, so don’t lose sight of your needs while gearing up for big change. Listen closely to the natural signs your body might be telling you.

What this moon means for Water Signs; Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces:

We’re not surprised that you’re doing a great job of going with the flow with everything this moon energy is giving you. Don’t stress about the smaller details of making everything work–it will all settle into place when the time is right. For now, focus on what brings you true joy.

ASTROLOGY + ENERGY: NEW MOON IN SCORPIO

ASTROLOGY + ENERGY: NEW MOON IN SCORPIO

As we come to a close on this moon cycle and enter into the next, the New Moon in Scorpio marks a perfect time to begin something new. Whether it’s bringing a fresh burst of optimism to your outlook on current events, or something as simple as clearing away the clutter to make room for new projects, any small changes you can make to prepare will be beneficial to you and those you surround yourself with.

The Moon’s relationship to Pluto is driving us forward with increased momentum to achieve our goals, and as we said in our last horoscope update, this is being felt across the signs. Make room to spread out and grow into who you are meant to become. Be wary not to burn those who want to genuinely support you and make an extra effort to keep communication open with the ones you love. A sense of community is crucial to stay healthy through this period.

In other celestial news, the Leonid meteor shower is peaking this weekend through Nov. 17th! If you can get outside to observe them, we recommend finding dark skies before dawn (when the constellation Leo is highest in the sky) for the best viewing opportunities. This particular meteor shower is visible most years, but intensifies when the Comet Tempel-Tuttle is close to Earth. According to historians, this causes a meteor “storm” rather than a “shower” due to the denser conglomerate of meteors surrounding the true comet.

In 1966 observers said they “almost needed to grip the ground,” because the sensation of Earth’s movement through space during the Leonid storm was so strong. Imagine! If it’s anything like the illustration we discovered below, we can see what they mean. The last perihelion (the closest point to the sun) was in 1998, so we will have to wait until 2031 until Tempel-Tuttle comes around again, but we’re happy to wait!

ASTROLOGY + ENERGY: New Moon in Leo

ASTROLOGY + ENERGY: New Moon in Leo

When the Sun enters into the zodiac of Leo you know life is about to get a little heated. The features and characteristics of this fiery sign are only enhanced as our lunar beauty continues to orbit around us. But what happens when that light isn’t being reflected back at us in the night sky? As the New Moon approaches on the evening of the 18th, take note of your inner light and see how it glows while you’re surrounded by that darkness.

This is the perfect time to do some soul searching and dive into the conversations or projects that you don’t normally have the mind space to grapple with. Now that the fog has cleared and some of the other looming tasks in your life are out of the way, you can clear up misunderstandings or reschedule the plans that were put on the back burner. Maybe there’s a project you’ve been wanting to start but never seem to have the right energy? This is the time to go for it!

If you find you’re feeling more burnt out than you’d like during this lunar cycle then look to Mars. The red planet is extra active in our skies right now and you might even notice some increased anxiety. It’s most likely because you can finally see the broader picture and all the moving pieces don’t look so blurry now. See this as an opportunity to let this energy in and become a helpful rhythm. Let it influence you and reset you, giving you  a new balanced perspective.

Consider setting aside some time this week to indulge in an activity at the same time every day to build a routine you can rely on. We suggest a mindful meditation moment or even a simple walk around your neighborhood. This can help as we transition into a new season and are required to experience what was once so normal in an entirely different way.

Remember that the Leo light is helping to support you in the absence of the moon’s glow and that this period is always an ideal time to recharge and prepare to start something new!

ASTROLOGY + ENERGY: July 20 New Moon in Cancer

ASTROLOGY + ENERGY: July 20 New Moon in Cancer

Monday marks the night of the Cancer new moon which will be opposite Saturn in the night sky. As we know, the new moon marks the beginning of a new cycle. We’ve all gone through so much in the past moon cycle and it is important to be born into this one with new or continued purpose. Stay focused on your goals whether you aim to make change or rest your being for the challenges ahead.

Saturn has the most impact on our shy celestial beauty this month because it is facing the moon  head on, as you can see in the chart above. You may experience limitations and restrictions keeping you from achieving your true goal. Don’t be fooled by your own internal monologue saying it can’t be achieved and remember that we are usually our own worst enemy when it comes to self doubt. Rise above that authoritative voice and seek the support you need.

We understand that the ebb and flow of not only your personal agenda but that of society can be draining. We’d like to revisit our reading from the last full moon and again emphasize the importance of taking care of you and yours. By doing this you can also help bring peace to those around you.

There are parts of this universe that can still be celebrated and we urge you to seek out those moments. A sunset by the lake or a quiet meditation can help you to focus on your thoughts and true desires. Investing your time in a project you can accomplish on your own might be just the confidence boost or drive you are looking for.

We will be supported by the fixed star Procyon this cycle for it can influence our ability to take action on thoughts that may have been swimming around our subconsciousness. Be wary though, if too much energy is focused from this star it can lead us to take action without a plan. Do not give into impulsive behavior under the new moon and instead wait for the evening glow to come back to our night sky.

Tune back in next month for insight into the August full moon!

June 21st: ENERGY + ASTROLOGY: New Moon + Solar Eclipse in Cancer

June 21st: ENERGY + ASTROLOGY: New Moon + Solar Eclipse in Cancer

With a solar eclipse and new moon happening simultaneously this gives off more power and influence in the skies. If you take a look at the star chart below, you’ll see the Sun and Moon next to each other which is called “Sun conjunct Moon.” This is one of the most influential blends of powers in the sky, and draws focus on the personal areas of your life. What happens in the skies is reflected in your own life—you may find yourself focused on your personal relationships, and the important women in your life come into sharper focus. If there are past grievances to heal, now is the time to reach out. You may find that an old friend wants to make amends during this time. Be sure to respond with openness and without hatred in your heart, for no healing or learning can take place otherwise.

There’s no doubt there’s a sense of imbalance in our lives right now. The planets are encouraging us to focus on the importance of flexibility and our ability to adapt as humans. If you’re feeling unwell, taking time off of work to heal has the potential to cause backlash in your professional life; but additional responsibilities at work could mean that you won't be able to participate in the important moments that your friends and family want you to be part of. Finding time for both might be impossible, but learning to compromise in some areas could lend itself to be helpful. Pay attention to what is taking up your time, and take initiative to root out activities that encourage procrastination. Keep your priorities and responsibilities at the forefront of your agenda.

The new moon is the time of the month when the moon steps back to let the stars shine. Follow the moon’s lead with the enthusiasm of the fixed star Mekalinan, located on the left shoulder of the Charioteer in the Auriga Constellation, but do so without the impulse and recklessness that can come with this energy. It is important to remember themes from the lunar eclipse on June 5th to see how they continue to impact the energies provided with this new moon.
