Happy Autumn Equinox! Although the leaves have weeks ago begun to flutter away from their branches here in Maine, this day marks the “official” beginning of a new season. The word “equinox” means “equal night” in Latin, because during an equinox the day and night are at equal length. This balancing point of darkness and light is particularly appropriate today, because this equinox marks the shifting of the sun into Libra, the zodiac sign represented by the scales. Libra is all about finding balance, beauty, peace, and smoothly collaborative relationships. Equinoxes always stir us to seek equilibrium where we have been tilted one way or the other, but this one lends the solar assistance of Libra’s perpetually practiced skill set in this realm to help us find harmony. It brings us the opportunity, also, to appreciate duality in all its forms, and recognize the impermanence of everything: challenges and joys, shadows and light. With the universe in oceanic ever-moving ebb and flow, we’re never truly stuck.
Libra is also a very relationship-focused sign, so you may be seeing your partnerships as a particularly powerful mirror of yourself right now. Take note of what coming from others lifts you up and what drags you down, and consider if these same sort of statements or behaviors are ever also coming from you, whether directed at others or yourself. Wednesday brought us a New Moon in Virgo, and on that day we were encouraged to create to-do lists or set intention for day-to-day changes to make in our lives for greater health and happiness (if you didn’t read our lunar energy report then, you can check it here). As we turn to a new season, take some time today to carry out those plans, and start this new chapter in a spirit of integrity to your heart, moving with Libran bonhomie and grace towards the sparkling magic of your highest good! <3
