It’s known as the full Sturgeon Moon, coined after the jurassic looking fish that is known to reside in the lakes and rivers of North America— we have plenty here in Maine! It’s known by this name for the abundant activity of these living fossils around the beginning of August.
The full moon rising on Monday, August 3rd resides in Aquarius. The Sun also happens to be opposite the Moon for this cycle which means yet again our home life is coming into sharper focus. The tension between maintaining peaceful routines at home and for work has the potential to cause more pressure in your life. Keep your energy reserves in good supply and try not to add any unnecessary stressors into the mix.
If you find someone else is experiencing this kind of uneasy chaos, the best way to handle any kind of erratic energy is with an open mind and flexibility. Understanding that everyone has different world views and experiences making them who they are is key to human understanding and growth. Be patient with those of opposing views. It’s likely that you have more in common than meets the eye. Who knows, it may even lend itself to creating a new opportunity for you to succeed!
With tension and disillusion in the air, keep a running list of the goals you wish to accomplish before the next full moon. This can help keep your mind clear to process each step as it comes. If you are feeling overwhelmed, ask a friend if you can confide in them. Make sure they have the mental space to help you process something before you rush into it. Being mindful of others is just as important as listening to your own needs.
Remember that we’re in this together and no matter what, the Moon continues to move through her cycles, as she has done for millions of years.
