These lovely cards are printed on lokta paper (hand-made in Nepal), and are embossed with a gold-leaf image of Ganesh, who in Hindu mythology is the patron of arts and sciences and the remover of obstacles. They are available in four colors.
These cards are made from the sun-dried bark of the Daphne Cannabina of Papyracea (locally known as the Lokta and found in mountain areas of Nepal). Indigenous paper products made from this bark are known for their exceptional durability and special texture. The bark is collected with environmental awareness to preserve the fragile forest ecology of Nepal, and each purchase supports the economic stability of the groups of people who responsibly produce this product.
