When Mexicali Blues got off the ground back in 1988, our idea was simple: Offer our
customers cool goods from around the world at prices they could afford. Our owners
Pete and Kim regularly head out into the world, searching bodegas, bazaars, and
street markets for funky artifacts and wearable treasures.

Local-to-local is how we roll. We buy directly from the artisans and craftspeople
we’ve met along the way, some of whom we’ve known for decades. From Latin
America to Southeast Asia, our commitment is to building mutually beneficial
relationships with our vendors. Authentic goods imported responsibly—that’s what
our Mexicali Blues label stands for.

In all our years of globetrotting, we’ve learned a lot and had our share of adventures.
Every color, scent, and texture in our stores traces its lineage back to someplace that
moved us, and every item we sell has a story. We like to share these stories on our
travel blog
, and if you stop in, we’d love to swap a few travel tales in person.
